Club 2277 Does It Again!

Two talented speakers from Central Toastmasters Club 2277, based in Worcester, were victorious in the Area Speech Contest on February 21 on Zoom.

Brooke Lyons, the club’s former President, won the International Speech Competition and Kelly Lin-Kremer, the club’s Vice President of Education, won the Evaluation Contest.

Brooke delivered a 5-7 minute speech entitled, “They’re Great.” Kelly, meanwhile, evaluated a speech delivered by a test speaker, getting only a few minutes to prepare her critique—a very challenging task.

Commenting on the stiff competition in the contest, Brooke said, “Competing in Toastmasters has given me the opportunity to learn from highly skilled and seasoned speakers in a challenging yet supportive environment.”

On March 19, Brooke and Kelly will compete in the Division E Contest, going up against Toastmasters from 19 clubs. As Brooke noted, “I encourage everyone to consider the benefits of pushing one’s skills to the next level through competition.”
