What Makes Us Different:

Central Toastmasters was originally chartered as a Toastmasters Club for the Heald Machine Company. Over 60 years ago, the Club thought that it could attract new members if it became a community club and a dinner club. As a result, a more diverse club evolved.  Membership sprang from a variety of work experiences, rather than from just one company. Members included business professionals, clergy, salespeople, aspiring politicians, business owners, immigrants who needed to learn English better, college students, older people, and anyone else who wanted to enhance their communication skills.

Central Toastmasters offers an educational environment combined with a lively social atmosphere.

Diversity is welcomed at Central Toastmasters. Our members have come from Canada, France, India, China, Malaysia, Ghana, Denmark, and Russia, as well as many different states in the United States. Such diversity enriches our Toastmasters meetings and fosters a welcoming atmosphere for the prospective member. The only requirement for membership is that the person is at least 18 years old. All over 18 are welcome to become members. Our oldest new member was 88 when he joined!

Central Toastmasters offers a unique, tolerant experience because of this diversity.
