Lyons Sweeps Central Toastmasters Speech Contest

In an exciting meeting last Wednesday night on Zoom, Brooke Lyons, former club president, won both the Evaluation and International Contests.

In the Evaluation Contest, Brooke delivered the best evaluation of a speech given by a visiting volunteer. The runners-up, who evaluated the same speech, were Kelly Lin-Kremer, second place;  and Marshall Gaye, third place.

In the International Speech Contest, meanwhile, Brooke delivered the best speech of her choosing, beating out 2nd Place Winner, Mike McGovern, and participant, Dave LeBlanc.

The contest, which was very well attended, was led very competently by Contest Chair Cleighton Tourtellotte. He was assisted by several other club volunteers, including Anita Wos and Crystal Jiang.
